Our AAGBA Angora Buck HerdSires
At A Mystical Farm, we raise only purebred AAGBA angora goats. We recognize that the most important members of our breeding herd are our high-quality bucks. These fellows are expected to grow kid-grade mohair throughout their lives and to carry the genetics that their progeny will also produce kid-grade mohair throughout their lives. Additionally, we expect these fellows to maintain fleeces with high density without becoming sheep-ish. We expect them to produce locks that have nice lock structure. We also expect them to have good body conformation with even shoulders and hips, a straight backline. straight legs, a proper-fitting jawline, etc. We expect them to carry all these traits onward to their progeny as well. We also expect them to have a good disposition, although this last factor is part genetics and part upbringing, therefore, we take extra care to try to raise them right while they remain under our care.

Speck Abe was our first high-quality AAGBA angora buck, and we are so very grateful to have been blessed with such a beautiful buck to have started our herd with! This incredible boy had all the perfect traits and passed everything good on to his progeny! We continue to see the blessings that he contributed to our herd!
With time, we needed new genetics simply because we had retained enough of Abe's daughters. So, we acquired Beowulf. Just look at that boy! Wow! You can see why I fell in love with him! Well, I bred him to my favorite girl, Ladybug, who blessed us with an incredible buckling, Beetle.
Again, Beetle is just amazing! Although, admittedly, Beetle was a little too dense, so I bred him to one of my does, Curly who was lacking in density a little. She produced an incredible buckling, Baloo, whom we are still utilizing as a herdsire.
Baloo is our pride and joy! He's continuing to produce kid-grade mohair well into adulthood and we're seeing it on all his progeny! He's well-mannered and just a perfect buck!
In the meantime, a couple of Abe's progeny grew up to become herdsires of their own. Apollo and Augustus have produced their own kids and continue the bloodlines that Abe started.
As we continued to grow our herd, we decided that we needed yet another bloodline, so we added Delta. Although Delta had a bit more of a narrow body frame than I preferred, his lock structure and fineness were just incredible, so I decided that our herd could benefit from his genetics and I was absolutely correct! I bred him to one of our more solid built, wide-bodied does, Buttercup, who produced a gorgeous buckling, Darius, whom we are still using as a herdsire today.
This young stud is our newest herdsire, Grande. We've bred him to some of our best does in the fall of 2024 and are looking forward to seeing his progeny in the spring of 2025. This gorgeous buck offers an incredibly fine full-coverage fleece with wonderful lock structure.
